In what is probably the most intriguing and horrifying news you'll hear all week, Pepsi Co. is testing out a Doritos flavored Mountain Dew called Dewitos. Yes, you read that right.
According to TIME, Doritos and Mountain Dew have been combined in one drink, and Pepsi Co. has actually been testing the drink at a few colleges and universities.
A picture of a Dewitos stand at Kent State University in Ohio appeared on Reddit, posted by user joes_nipples. The user said that the bright orange liquid actually did taste like Doritos, who added on that, "It honestly wasn't that disgusting. It tasted like orange with a doritos after taste. It tasted like straight doritos afterwards though. Weirdest thing I've ever drunken."
It appears that the stand isn't a hoax, either. A spokesperson for Mountain Dew told TIME that the company is always looking to test out new flavors, and that the Dewitos flavor is, in fact, being tested out. "We opened up the DEW flavor vault and gave students a chance to try this Doritos-inspired flavor as part of a small program at colleges and universities," the spokesperson said.
Reddit user joes_nipples also said that Mountain Dew is testing out a few other flavors, including lemon ginger, mango habanero, and rainbow sherbet.
There's no word on if the Dewitos flavor, or any of the others listed above, will be at a grocery or corner store near you any time soon. But just the thought of picking up a bright orange Doritos-flavored drink is almost too troubling to think about.
