A new trailer for the upcoming Project Almanac has been released a day after the reveal of its poster.
The new trailer for the found-footage time travel movie was revealed on Tuesday on MTV.com after the website debuted the poster on Monday. The trailer shows a bunch of teenage friends who discover plans for a time travel device and build it, but find out the consequences of manipulating time some time after using it.
Originally called Welcome to Yesterday, according to Slashfilm, the film’s idea was received by Michael Bay’s production house Platinum Dunes around two years ago. Production began in the Summer of 2013 with the original idea being to release the film in February the following year, but distributor Paramount took it back. The film is currently scheduled for January 30, 2015.
ScreenCrush reported that Project Almanac was shown at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, and the film was well-received by the attending audience. The website also referred to the film as this generation’s version of The Sound of Thunder with the story’s emphasis on time travel and repercussions.
