A final trailer was released for Peter Jackson's epic finale The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film saga will conclude in what the trailer shows as a climactic final battle. Jackson told fans at San Diego Comicon-Con this year that this final movie is his favorite of The Hobbit films and that he had always imagined his Middle-Earth saga to only be complete with six total films, Screen Rant reported.

"I was always very much aware of it being a six film set. There was always a sense that one day, long after all this is over, if it’s going to exist in the world it will be as this six film series – that’s how future generations are going to think of them. It starts with The Unexpected Journey and ends with Return of the King.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug earned around $958 million at the box office according to Box Office Mojo, compared to The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King which earned more than $1 billion.

“You have but one question to ask yourselves: How shall this day end,” Sir Ian Mckellen asks as Gandalf in the trailer. Hopefully with a terrific finale for audiences and a lot of money for those involved with creating the movie.
