A new animated movie from Blue Dream Studios about Animal Crackers has just added a few huge names to its cast.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Sylvester Stallone, Danny DeVito and Ian McKellen have signed on to join the upcoming animated film Animal Crackers.
The film will revolve around a family who inherits a circus and discovers a mysterious box of Animal Crackers which change the person who eats them into the animal they've eaten.
The cast will also include Patrick Warburton, Gilbert Gottfried, Raven-Symoné, Harvey Fierstein, James Arnold Taylor, Tara Strong and Lydia Taylor.
The film will be directed by Scott Christian Sava and Tony Bancroft. Sava doesn't have too many directing credits aside from a short and a TV movie, but Bancroft is known for co-directing Disney's Mulan.
Sava noted that he had these three actors in mind when writing the film, according to The Wrap. "To find out that each and every one of these actors have agreed to come on board this film and bring these characters to life… I’m flipping out."
The movie is aiming for a Summer 2016 release, although it does not yet have a distributor. The premise sounds interesting enough, though the fact that it's coming from a completely unknown studio and two mostly unknown directors means it's kind of hard to tell how successful the movie might be, or if it will land distribution anytime soon.
