Tony Hawk officially rides the first working hover board, after teaming with Funny or die to advertise a fake version last March. Though, many are having a hard time to believe this Back to the Future phenomenon, skateboard enthusiast, Dave Carnie joins Hawk in its promotional video, featured on YouTube.

Carnie also interviewed creators, Greg and Jill Henderson of “Hendo hover” for a written segment on his website, The Ride Channel. They scientifically explained the technology behind the first working hover board. However, due to his need for a “Hover board building for Dummies” description, Greg politely agreed when Dave asked if it was basically, “two magnets repelling each other?”

Carnie comments on the struggle that he and Tony had while riding the board featured in the video. Although Tony was determined to deliver a trick, Dave decided to accept his failing fate, for he professionally reported that it was “hard as sh** to ride.”

Kickstarter has created a campaign in hopes to raise enough funds to commercialize the Hendo Hover board. Starting with the sale of their Hendo T-shirts, Kickstarter’s goal is to not only offer the product publically, but to create safe places to ride, or should we say hover.
