The votes are in and Chris Hemsworth has been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive.
The magazine crowned the 31-year-old actor, who is the older brother of Liam Hemsworth, with the 2014 title.
The Thor star had some stiff competition as Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum, Chris Pratt and Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan were all thought to have had a chance at snagging the top spot. Hemsworth himself said that he and his wife found the news to be “pretty funny” when they first heard it.
E! News noted he joked that the first thing that went through his mind was "Good. You're a couple years too late. I hit my peak a few years ago. I'm on the decline now, so I'm not sure if I still deserve it, but thank you."
People’s current Sexiest Man Alive is a native of Australia and is married to Spanish model Elsa Pataky. The couple have three children India, 2, and eight-month-old twins Sasha and Tristan.
