While Snoopy and several Peanuts characters were proudly on display this morning during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, fans of Charles Schultz original comics should not forget there's a new Peanuts film coming to theaters in less than one year's time, on Nov. 6, 2015. To help remind fans, 20th Century Fox just released the full voice cast of the upcoming animated film.
The list, found on Collider, includes a full list of the characters to be on display in front of cinemas next year, but one would be hard pressed to find anyone they recognize, at least by name. The studio appears to be riding on the success of the franchise and property, because they just cast a bunch of unknowns for the principal parts.
Charlie Brown will be voiced by Noah Schnapp, who recently wrapped a part in Steven Spielberg's untitled Cold War film, also starring Tom Hanks. Lucy, meanwhile, will be accompanied by Hadley Belle Miller's voice, whose only other credit is as the character of Buttercup on an episode of the animated show Sofia the First.
Meanwhile, AJ Tecce voices Pig-Pen, Noah Johnston (Monsters University) is Schroeder, Alexander Garfin (Salt) brings back Linus, and Frances Capaldi (Dog with a Blog) lends her voice to Little Red-Haired Girl, Charlie's crush. Meanwhile, Mar Mar (Austin & Alley) brings life to Franklin, Mariel Sheets voices Sally, William Alexander Wunsch (Saturday Night Live) plays Shermy, Rachel Bloom (The Tonight Show) voices Marcie, Anastasia Bredikhina speaks for Patty, Madisyn Shipman (Sesame Street) voices Violet, and then newcomer Venus Schultheis will make her debut as the voice of Peppermint Patty.
As seen in the film's first two trailers, The Peanuts Movie is CG, but is animated to emulate the style of Schultz's original drawings. This news also comes after yesterday's release of the movie's first poster, in honor of Schultz's birthday, as reported by ComingSoon.net.
