Amber Heard is reportedly in talks to join The Danish Girl, the next film from The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper. The film already has Eddie Redmayne attached to star.
The film was first announced in April and stars Redmayne as Danish painter Einar Wegener, who became the first man to have a sex-change operation in 1930 and later worked as Lili Elbe. Alicia Vikander will play Gerda, Einar’s wife.
Deadline reported today that Heard was in talks for a part in the film. She recently filmed Magic Mike XXL and her other credits include The Rum Diary, 3 Days to Kill and Drive Angry.
The Danish Girl will be Hooper’s follow-up to Les Miserables, which featured Redmayne. It will also reunite the Oscar winner with Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. It was inspired by David Ebershoff’s novel.
Redmayne is expected to get his first Oscar nomination for playing Stephen Hawking in the Theory of Everything.
