Unless North Korea and the Guardians of Peace have their way, Seth Rogen's newest raunchy comedy The Interview will come into theaters on Christmas day. But don't expect to see it on any Carmike Cinemas screens, for the theater company has pulled the film from their roster following some hostel e-mails sent by the hackers Tuesday.

As The Hollywood Reporter unveiled, representatives at Carmike decided not to show the new comedy, coming out just next week, in their establishments following the latest threats from G.O.P. As The Daily Mail covered, these latest e-mails suggested "9/11 like" attacks on the city, and also theaters who show this new movie.

Although a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said they don't believe there's any validity to these claims, Sony said today they would allow theater companies the freedom to not show their film, which the Columbus, GA-based theater company apparently decided was in their best interest. With over 2,917 screens across 41 states, however, this may be a good blow for the comedy's profits next weekend.

At this moment, no other theater chain has backed out of showing the new movie besides Carmike, although stocks for AMC, Cinemark and Regal did drop following this threat.

Directed by Rogen and Evan Goldberg (This is the End), The Interview centers on a popular talk show host and his producer who become involved in an assassination attempt to kill Kim Jong-Un. Unless they get cold feet, the new comedy is set to hit theaters soon.
