Coldplay is known for topping the charts and selling out arenas around the world but it turns out that not everyone is a fan of the rock band. Chris Martin explained that he once sent David Bowie a sample of one of their songs and asked him to sing on it. Turns out Bowie wasn't on board with the collaboration.

Martin opened up about the failed collaboration at the BBC Music Awards. He spoke about Bowie during a video tribute.
"One time I sent him a song to ask him to sing on it. He called me and said, 'It's not one of your best,'" explained Martin. "He's got very high standards and I appreciate that. It inspires the rest of us to keep our standards high."
Rolling Stone reported that Martin did not say which Coldplay song that Bowie rejected. The "Sky Full of Stars" singer did say that he had nothing but respect for Bowie and that he is known for writing such amazing classics even now.
Fans that are still hoping for a Bowie/Coldplay collaboration are running out of time. When Martin was discussing the bands next project, he hinted that it might be the last album for the band. The LP which the group has been working on is currently titled A Head Full of Dreams.
