Authorities said that a Florida couple have been arrested for squatting in a vacant million-dollar mansion.
Good Morning America reported that the couple, Jenna, 23, and Justin Dean, 24, allegedly started living at the upscale Keystone Heights residence a few months ago. The pair claimed that they purchased the deed to the house at a discounted price because it was in foreclosure.
The two also allegedly started bragging about the property that did not belong to them to their friends on social media.
“This is the house we just bought. We have a lot of work to do, it’ll take some time but Rome wasn’t built overnight,” Jenna Dean reportedly posted on her Facebook page.
Deputies said that the couple even invited friends over for pool parties at the home, but when a buyer from Ohio inquired and bought the property the couple’s entire charade was uncovered.
The Deans were charged with grand theft, forgery and unlawful filing.
Florida Times-Union noted that the estate is around 7,000-square-feet with two-story Corinthian columns and sits on 240 acres.
