Cameras on David Ayer’s Suicide Squad will begin rolling this spring in Toronto. DC Comics and Warner Bros. still haven’t announced an official cast, but it looks like Margot Robbie and Jared Leto are very close to joining.
On Monday, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the film is under the working title Bravo 14 and will start pre-production in February at Pinewood Toronto Studios. Principal photography will last from mid-April through September.
The cast is expected to include Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as The Joker, Jai Courtney as Deadshot and Tom Hardy. All four are in “final talks,” as THR puts it.
Suicide Squad is being produced by Colin Wilson and centers on convicted DC universe super villains who take on dangerous missions to redeem themselves. It will be directed by Ayer, who just filmed Fury with Brad Pitt and End of Watch with Jake Gyllenhaal.
The film will be the follow-up to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and is currently scheduled for Aug. 5, 2016.
