Eva Mendes made her first post-baby appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she was confronted by the syndicated daytime talk show host for lying about being pregnant the last time she was on.

She also talked about her notoriously low-key pregnancy, with the media not even finding out until she was seven months in.

“I was so early on!" Mendes said of denying the pregnancy. "All moms will understand, you're not supposed to tell anybody during your first… well certainly not the world… in your first trimester.”

She continued to say that she didn’t even tell her mom the news yet. “So that would have been an awkward phone call. 'Hey mom did you catch Ellen today?' Um, oops! Us Weekly reports.

Mendes echoed the same sentiments she said in her first interview after having Esmeralda, saying keeping the pregnancy private was their “first opportunity” to give her the most privacy possible.

“I had a nice calm pregnancy, which I did,” she said.
