While the jury’s still out on a full-length Frozen sequel, one thing is for sure. A Frozen short film is coming and we finally know when it will hit theaters.
Disney announced that Frozen Fever, which could be the name of the way the world has felt since the film came out last year, will be seen before Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella.
The studio’s new live action version of the Cinderella fairy tale will open on March 13 and stars Lily James in the title role. Cate Blanchett stars as the Evil Stepmother. The first trailer was released last month.
Frozen helmers Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee directed Fever, which will feature a new song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. The Hollywood Reporter notes that Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Kristen Bell and Josh Gad will reprise their roles.
Last week, Menzel caused a stir by suggesting that she knew Disney had started work on a Frozen 2. However, on Monday, she admitted that she didn’t really have any inside information about a sequel. She told the Today Show that she just assumed Disney was making one since the first movie was such a big hit.
