Former President George H.W. Bush has had to spend another Christmas in the hospital. The 90-year-old has been at Houston Methodist Hospital since Tuesday.
Bush, the oldest-living former president, was admitted to the hospital for “shortness of breath.”
“He is still in the hospital and doing well,” spokesman Jim McGrath told the Houston Chronicle today. He is also not in danger, McGrath confirmed.
Back in December 2012, Bush also spent Christmas at Houston Methodist for a cough and other health issues. He was not discharged until January 2013.
As USA Today notes, Bush has a form of Parkinson’s disease, which forces him to use a wheelchair or motorized scooter to get around. However, that didn’t stop him from doing a successful parachute jump to mark his 90th birthday in June.
Bush served in the Navy in World War II and was also a director of the CIA. He was President Ronald Reagan’s vice president for both of Reagan’s terms. He is also the father of former President George W. Bush and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
