While it seems like everyone with Internet access has seen the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser already, there is one person who hasn’t: The Maker himself, George Lucas.

Lucas, who no longer has control of the beloved universe he created, told The New York Post’s Page Six that he hasn’t seen it and doesn’t even plan on doing so.

“I don’t know anything about it. I haven’t seen it yet,” he told the paper.

When asked why, Lucas explained, “Because it’s not in the movie theater. I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there. I plan to see it when it’s released.”

Since Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012 for $4 billion, Lucas gave up creative control of the saga he launched in 1977 with the first film. He had overseen every part of the story in the six previous films, but The Force Awakens was written by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan without Lucas.

The Force Awakens teaser was released on Nov. 28 and scored 72 million views in just a week. It also inspired countless parody trailers.

Lucas - and the rest of us - will get to see The Force Awakens on Dec. 18, 2015.
