Hank Williams Jr. will be making a rare television appearance during first edition of American Country Countdown Awards which will air on Dec. 15. Williams is known for not making many public appearances on television.

HNGN reported that the country countdown will feature a variety of performers and guest including some of the biggest names in country music today like Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line and Miranda Lambert along with Carrie Underwood.
The show will be hosted by Florida Georgia Line's Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard. This award show was created to be very similar and to honor that of the classic radio show "American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks."

Rolling Stone added that Williams is set to close out the show and will play on his famous party-time anthems.
Awards will be given out based upon radio airplay and album sales. Competing for album of the year include Jason Aldean, Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum and Blake Shelton.
The show is set to air live from Nashville's Music City and will be on FOX at 8 p.m.
