Marr addressed fans on his website and explained the reason for the cancelation. “I’m really disappointed to not be able to play the shows. The touring has been so enjoyable for me and the band and the audiences have been great everywhere," explained Marr. He went on to say that if it was just him not feeling well, he would find a way to continue but he has to support his family. "Not be there for one of my family is not right. Thank you to everyone for the kind messages. See you soon."
Rolling Stone reported that Marr does hope to reschedule the tour dates. Fans who had purchased tickets to the cancelled shows can get a refund at the point of purchase.
Marr was on tour promoting his second solo effort, Playland, which is the follow up to his first and critically acclaimed solo album The Messenger. He had started his tour in the U.K. and even teamed up with former Oasis member Noel Gallagher at the world famous O2 in London.
