Justin Timberlake and Garth Brooks joined forces to please both fans of country and pop music, singing Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places” at Timberlake’s Nashville concert this past weekend.
Timberlake surprised the crowd by bringing Brooks out, singing half of the song on his own then pausing to introduce Brooks.
"Hold on now — something don't feel right. Something don't feel right, Nashville... I mean, if you're gonna do this — Garth?!” he said, which prompted Brooks to walk out to roaring applause. "Ladies and gentlemen: Mr. Garth Brooks.”
Us Weekly reports they finished the song together, with Brooks singing the unrecorded third verse of the song.
Brooks shared his view from the stage looking out to the large crowd with an Instagram video, writing, “I saw an ENTERTAINER tonight! @justintimberlake#Justinrcredible.”
Timberlake is known to surprise fans on his 20/20 Experience World Tour. During his stop at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, he brought out Jay Z for a performance of their hit song “Holy Grail.”
