After missing a scheduled pre-taped performance on Tuesday night, Mariah Carey has rescheduled for a live performance on Wednesday night on NBC.
The story goes that Carey was meant to film a performance that would air on Wednesday night during the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in New York City’s Rockefeller Center, but after showing up three hours late, she was told to go home.
According to TMZ, what was holding her up was a long phone call with her lawyer about her divorce proceedings from estranged husband Nick Cannon.
The network has decided they want to take the risk and book her for the live performance because they feel she’s worth it.
LeAnn Rimes is also supposed to perform, but she hinted she would be given more time on air – never directly mentioning Carey.
“Lol well, plans changed! I love this business, cracks me up!” she tweeted. “Cannot WAIT to perform tonight! #HIPPO #OneChristmasEP.”
Cannon and Carey actually spent Thanksgiving together this year with their 3-year-old twins.
