While Olympic medalist Mark Schultz has been supportive of Bennett Miller’s Oscars hopeful Foxcatcher, the wrestler played by Channing Tatum in the film went on a bizarre Twitter tirade today. He also posted negative comments about Miller on his Facebook page.

Many of the tweets still exist, but The Hollywood Reporter notes that some tweets called the Moneyball filmmaker a “punk,” “p**sy” and “liar.”

Some of the messages that remain tells Miller that he “crossed the line” and that “you’re career is over. You think I can’t do it. Watch me.” Many of the tweets are written in all capital letters.

Another reads, “Everything I've ever said positive about the movie I take back. I hate it. i hate it. i hate it. I hate it. i hate it. i hate it. I hate it.” The very next tweet reads, “I HATE BENNETT MILLER.”

Schultz also posted messages on his Facebook page, cursing at Miller. In one lengthy message, he fact-checks major plot points in the film.

The question remains though, is it really Schultz sending these messages? He has been nothing but supportive of the film - which shows how he and his brother met John Du Pont (played by Steve Carell) before du Point murdered his brother (Mark Ruffalo) - so some think that his social media accounts may have been hacked, notes Variety. Schultz has used his Twitter and Facebook pages to post promotional material for the film and even went to Cannes with Miller and the cast.

Still, there were signs that Schultz’s support for the film began to wane. While promoting his book, Foxcatcher: The True Story of My Brother's Murder, John du Pont's Madness, and the Quest for Olympic, he began to tweet that his portrayal in Foxcatcher the film is “inaccurate.” But then again, a Dec. 21 tweet praised Miller’s work.

From Dec. 21:

Then, today:

Foxcatcher is still in limited release. Sony Pictures Classics did not comment on Schultz’s tweets.
