Do you have an extra few days this holiday season and are a Marvel fan? Then you can use that time by creating a supercut of all Marvel’s Phase 1 films in chronological order. Last week, a superfan posted a video to explain how he did it.
The video was created by Michael Furth, editor at the Comics Archive. As iO9 points out, Furth explains how to edit the films, some episodes of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD plus the short-films on the Blu-rays to put together a massive, 12-hour film.
“Over the fall I decided to put together a supercut of all the Marvel movies, putting all the scenes in correct story order,” Furth wrote on YouTube. “I like to call is the Marvel Movie Omnibus. Here you'll find instructions on how to make your own cut for Phase 1 (everything up through The Avengers).”
Furth then provided a full list of the films and SHIELD episodes he used and the correct timing. Of course, if it was just a matter of watching the films in order, this would be easy, but he actually took flashbacks out of the films and put them at the beginning. So, the cut starts with scenes from Thor: The Dark World and Thor, then goes into scenes from Captain America: The Winter Soldier before the majority of Captain America: The First Avenger.
He took scenes from two SHIELD episodes, both from season two, “Shadows” and “The Things We Bury.”
Here’s exactly what you’ll need to make the chronological cut:
