Ant-Man's transition to the big screen just took another step forward. For Marvel's newest superhero movie finished filming as of yesterday.

The news comes from director Peyton Reed himself, who tweeted the following:

Starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Pena, Ant-Man began filming back in August. The film has come from some controversy, when its original director Edgar Wright left the project after spending six years trying to make it a reality. Reed filled in his shoes not long after, but production was delayed after Marvel went about hiring a new director.

Marvel has a history of doing re-shoots of some of their scenes during post-production, so as to fix certain things or add some things to the film. It is likely Ant-Man will do the same, so expect to hear about re-shoots around the end of winter/beginning of spring.

Turns out, this was just one of the upcoming superhero movies that wrapped production yesterday, for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also finished filming yesterday, according to Screen Rant.

Ant-Man shrinks his way into theater on July 17, 2015.
