In what has become an all too familiar narrative recently, a police officer shot and killed an unarmed black man in Phoenix Tuesday evening and protesters want the name of that cop.

NBC News noted that around 100 protestors marched to Phoenix police headquarters Thursday night and demanded the name of the officer who fatally shot 34-year-old Rumain Brisbon.

Authorities have said the cop is a 30-year-old white male, but have yet to release his name.

Witness’ stories about the events leading up the shooting have varied. Some say that Brisbon was just delivering dinner to his family when he was shot. The Phoenix police, however, have said that he may have been in the middle of a drug deal when he was confronted by the officer.

The department also said that Brisbon had a criminal history and although he was unarmed at the time he was shot, a gun was found in his vehicle.

“What happened here is a police officer murdered my client,” attorney Marci Kratter, who represented Brisbon in a prior DUI case, told The Washington Post. “And what the police say happened, it doesn’t make any sense at all. There’s something not right with it.”

The timing of this shooting comes when emotions are already running high and protests are being held throughout the country opposing two grand jury decisions not to indict police officers for the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
