The Salvation Army has certainly gotten some interesting donations over the years and last week another valuable oddity was found.

Reuters reported that a gold tooth was discovered in a collection kettle in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Associated Press noted that spokesman Rick Carroll said after Wednesday’s kettle was dropped off, the bank called to tell him that they had something for him to pick up.

"It's the whole tooth, with the root and everything,” said Carroll. “It really looks strange.”

Aside of being a little gross, the tooth donation is actually valued around $100.

Carroll said some other strange, but generous donations that have been dropped in the red buckets in the past have included diamond rings, four-leaf clovers as well as gold and silver pieces.

The Salvation Army is behind its goal this year and bell ringers are still out in full force accepting donations for the needy. Just a side note, you don’t need to pull a tooth to help out.
