For the rest of this week at least, we will not be hearing from James Franco or Seth Rogen. The actors’ press tour for The Interview was cancelled by Sony just moments ago.
Both Deadline and TheWrap are reporting that Sony just cancelled all of their scheduled appearances.
They were set to go on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, What What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and Late Night with Seth Meyers. Franco and Rogen were also scheduled to make some of these appearances with Randall Park, who plays Kim Jong Un in the film, which is about an assassination plot to kill the North Korean leader.
Franco and Rogen appeared together on Howard Stern’s show, while Rogen has appeared solo on Good Morning America and The Colbert Report. Rogen is also a co-director and co-writer on the film.
The press tour was cancelled just moments after another message from the hackers came out, directly threatening theaters showing The Interview on Christmas Day.
