Variety reported that Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced that they have no plans to move forward with the release of the James Franco and Seth Rogen comedy. The movie will not be released in theaters or video on demand in light of the recent threats made by hackers. The threat was published by the hackers and included references to 9/11.
"We will clearly show it to you at the very time and places 'The Interview' be shown, including the premiere, how bitter fate those who seek fun in terror should be doomed to."
In a further development in this story, U.S. officials are linking the hack to North Korea.
