Award season officially is in full force this December, with every award organization in the book naming their favorites left and right it seems. The Online Film Critics Society is no exception, as they have announced their 18th annual OFSC awards for excellence in film, with Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Film taking their top prize with Best Picture.

The list, from Thompson on Hollywood, also highlights The Lego Movie as Best Animated Feature, Two Days, One Night as Best Film Not in an English Language, Life Itself as Best Documentary, and Richard Linklater as Best Director for Boyhood.

Taking the acting prizes were Michael Keaton for Best Actor and Edward Norton as Best Supporting Actor in Birdman, Rosamund Pike for Best Actress in Gone Girl and Patricia Arquette for Best Supporting Actress in Boyhood. In addition to Best Picture, The Grand Budapest Hotel also took home the Best Cinematography and Best Original Screenplay awards.

Rounding out the rest were Birdman winning Best Editing and Gone Girl taking the Best Adapted Screenplay award. In the non-competitive section, the Best Non-U.S. Release films were '71, 10,000 km, Entre Nos, Han Gong-ju, Hard to Be a God, The Look of Silence, The Salt of the Earth, What We Do in the Shadows, Timbuktu and The Tribe.

"This year represented an opportunity to revisit our youth, look toward the future, and search deep inside our souls through the spectacular array of films shown on screen," said Cole Smithey, OSCS' chair. "We found courage, love and heartbreak in this year's films and we're proud to be able to honor them."

The last two years found 12 Years a Slave and Argo winning Best Picture for both OFSC and the Oscars. So that means the Online awards will go against the Oscar path this year, most likely. Still, the race is still early, and with no definitive Best Picture frontrunner at the Oscars, it's possible Grand Budapest Hotel (read our review here) could squeak a win, but not likely.

At the moment, it seems to be between Boyhood and Selma, but things could always change.
