The House United from Nashville formed back in early 2014 and are already impressing with their album Made of Matches.

Nashville has become a place were musicians can get a great first start in the business and has become a breading ground for a variety of new music, not just country music. The House United combined many musical influences from the Nashville area but it is clear that their punk, pop, alternative roots shine through the most on Made of Matches.

The band is lead by Carmel Buckingham, who is only 16 years old, and also features guitarist Brandon Adams, bassist Joe Gregory and drummer Austin Arnold.

Upon listening to Made of Matches, it will without a doubt be compared to that of Paramore and Hayley Williams, but Buckingham brings a different vocal tone to the popular pop/punk genre. The House United combines the popular instrumental runs that are found in rock and pop music today but Buckingham adds another layer of depth to the songs with her vocals. She has a unique vocal tone that is deep yet powerful at the same time.

The album starts out with singles that hit hard and really show off the bands ability to write and create songs that fit around Buckingham's vocals. These songs feel like the band truly worked together to create something and the result is a fun, upbeat pop, rock sound.

Made of Matches feels like a complete work and has many stand out singles. The band has found a way to combine pop and rock in a way that feels new compared to that of popular bands in the 90s and early 2000's who owned this genre at the top of the charts.

It is clear that the band needs to develop their sound more and this is an early debut but together they are on a unique musical path that is likely to impress on the charts and with fans.

Stand out tracks on the album include "Who I Am," "Stay Alive" and "Come Back Home."
