Authorities in Pennsylvania said that they have linked a suspect to an attempted robbery thanks to of all things, a roll of toilet paper.
The Associated Press reported that police in Uniontown said that Eric Frey, 29, unsuccessfully tried to rob a pizza shop on Saturday.
The suspect allegedly handed the employee a piece of toilet paper with the words "I have a gun. Give me $300,” scribbled on it.
The would-be bandit did not make off with any cash as officers arrived while he was still in the restaurant after a worker hit the panic button.
According to an arrest affidavit, Frey told authorities that he was actually forced to rob the business by another armed man and insisted that he had nothing to hide. He even allowed police to search his home. However, when the officers did, they found a roll of toilet paper with an impression of the words on the paper given to the pizza shop employee. They also found a black-ink pen next to the roll.
The Tribune Review noted that Frey was arrested on several charges ranging from attempted robbery to theft to possession of drug paraphernalia. He is due back in court on Jan. 7.
