U2 has announced that they will be headed back on tour, and will make over 44 stops in total including Vancouver and many cities in the United States. The tour, which is being called, 'Innocence + Experience,' is set to kick off in May.

Billboard reported that the tour will start off in Vancouver, B.C., on May 14-15. The first leg of the tour includes 22 shows all across the United States. Following the conclusion of the first leg, the band will head overseas to play shows in U.K. and Europe.

This tour will be unique for the band because they will be playing two shows at each stop. U2 will be playing four shows in Los Angeles, Madison Square Garden in New York and four additional shows at the famous O2 in London.

The unique set up of playing back to back shows is no accident. The concept behind the tour is said to feature the band playing two different shows in each market. This is said to be why the tour is being called 'Innocence + Experience.' Even though the shows will be different every night in the same city, tickets will be sold individually and no packages will be offered.

Leader singer, Bono, went on to explain the concept behind the tour. “We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two and have some fun playing with the idea of innocence and experience," explained Bono. "More to be revealed!”

Tickets go on sale for the general public on Dec. 8th. A full list of tour dates can be found on U2's website.

U2 recently was given the honor by Rolling Stone magazine for having the best album of the year with Songs of Innocence.
