Wheel of Fortune contestant Matt DeSanto won a record-breaking $91,892 during the game that aired the day after Christmas, which was surely a nice gift for his family.

He isn’t the winningest player in the history of the show, but he is the first to win over $70,000 during the main game, even before the bonus round.

DeSanto played an unbelievable game, even guessing the answer of The Lone Ranger while only being provided with an “E.”

He told Today.com of his skills, “The wheel definitely worked in my favor. I was extremely fortunate."

DeSanto is a father of two from Malvern, Pennsylvania.

His luck ended when he failed to get the $1 million from the bonus round. He guessed “gravel” but couldn’t get the first letter in the full answer “wooden gravel.”

"I was pretty exhausted [by the bonus round]," he said. "I should have picked better letters."

Of course, DeSanto should be proud of the fact he’s in a category of his own in Wheel of Fortune history.
