The man accused of ambushing two Pennsylvania state troopers and leading authorities on a manhunt for more than a month, is due in court to enter a plea.
The Associated Press noted that the arraignment for Eric Frein, 31, is scheduled to take place Thursday afternoon in a Milford courthouse.
Prosecutors said they believe the suspect will not be present in the courtroom, but will participate via video and his attorneys expect that he will enter a not guilty plea.
Frein is accused of fatally shooting Cpl. Bryon Dickson and wounding Trooper Alex Douglass during a shift change at their Pike County barracks last September. After the shooting, the trained survivalist was named a suspect and led several agencies and hundreds of law enforcement officers on a nearly 50-day manhunt through the Pennsylvania forest.
As previously reported, earlier this month, a judge ruled that there was enough evidence for Frein to stand trial.
He has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and other charges.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in this case.
