The Grammy Awards are just weeks away and some of the night’s performers have been announced. The Grammy website announced that not only will pop singer Ariana Grande make an appearance, but so will rockers AC/DC and Grammy-winning singer Madonna.
According to the Grammy website, other performers will include Ed Sheeran and Eric Church. This will be the first performance for all artists except for Sheeran and Madonna.
Church, known for his song “Give Me Back My Hometown,” which he is nominated for Best Country Song for, is nominated for three other awards while Grande has two nominations, one for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the song “Bang Bang” and for Best Pop Vocal Album with “My Everything.”
Sheeran’s nominations include Album of the Year, Best Song Written for Visual Media, “I See Fire,” and Best Pop Vocal Album for X. “I See Fire” was written for the movie The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
Us Weekly reported that some of the acts have also brought up their appearance at the awards show on their social media accounts. AC/DC made a tweet on Tuesday saying, “AC/DC are returning to US TV for the first time in over 14 years to perform at @THEGRAMMYS on Feb 8.” The group was on hiatus for six years before they released Rock or Bust in November.
