As the omnipresent Snowmageddon storms across the U.S., several Hollywood stars are preparing themselves to bring it on. Anthony Mackie, John Goodman, Olivia Wilde, Amanda Seyfried, Alan Arkin, Diane Keaton, Ed Helms, June Squibb and more join the ensemble cast of the tentatively titled Let It Snow.
Announced in a press release by distributor CBS Films, Let It Snow will also feature the talents of Marisa Tomei, Alex Borstein (Family Guy), Jake Lacy (Obvious Child) and Jon Tenney (Scandal). A holiday comedy directed by Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam) and written by Steven Rogers (P.S. I Love You), the comedy just recently began filming in Pittsburgh, PA.
Let It Snow follows the "exasperated members of an extended family as they attempt to gather for their annual Holiday celebration. As the Christmas Eve chaos unfolds, so do moments of life transition for each of them as they realize that a house filled with love and laughter always makes the season bright." It is scheduled to hit theaters on November 13 of this year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film was also previously titled Tis the Season.
In addition to directing, Nelson also produces alongside Michael London (The Family Stone) and Janice Williams (the upcoming Trumbo) of Groundswell. Keaton, meanwhile, will also be an executive producer on the comedy, which is a position she shares with Rogers, Ted Gilow and Imagine Entertainment. Additionally, Academy and Grammy-winning musician T-Bone Burnett will serve as an executive music producer for the film, and also produce its soundtrack. Overseeing the project for CBS Films will be Scott Shooman, the company's executive vice president of acquisitions and co-productions.
This is the second time Seyfried films a movie in Pittsburgh recently, as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports she stars in the upcoming Fathers and Daughters, which also stars Russell Crowe, Aaron Paul and Jane Fonda. She will also star in While We're Young, Ted 2 and Pan later this year.
Wilde also has The Lazarus Project and Meadowland coming soon, while Goodman stars in Trumbo and Valencia later this year. Tomei soon will appear in Judd Apatow's Trainwreck, while Squibb has A Country Called Home coming down the pipeline in 2015.
