British producer Bernard Williams has passed away at the age of 72.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Williams died on January 4th, surrendering to cancer. His daughter, Dana Williams-Maginnis told the Hollywood Reporter that he was in Lake Arrowhead, California at the time of his death.
Williams was a native of London, England, and began his film career in the mail-room of Associated British Pictures. He didn't move to Hollywood until 1981.
Some of his most famous work includes A Clockwork Orange, Star Trek:Generations, What About Bob?, Bofinger and The Housesitter. A couple of his most recent films include The Score and Daredevil (2003) starring Ben Affleck.
Legendary actor James Cagney's last appearance was in Williams' 1982 Ragtime, directed by Milos Forman. The movie featured a young black pianist who mixed in with an upper-class white family. The story included racial tensions, infidelity and violence during early 1900's in New York City, notes IMDB.
Williams was survived by his sister Gaye, children Dana, Vanessa and Howard, and his ex-wife Valerie Normal-Dannels.
