A Temple University student died Thursday evening after she fell from a Philadelphia building and landed atop a pedestrian on the ground beneath her.
WPVI reported that the female student was visiting friends on the eight floor of the building around 6 p.m. and fell as she was trying to take photographs out the window.
WCAU noted that sources identified her as 18-year-old Rebecca Kim and said she slipped from from the window’s ledge.
Authorities believe she fell when she tried to get back inside.
Kim ended up landing on a passerby walking below along the busy downtown street. The name of that woman has not yet been given. She is 44-years-old.
Both victims were taken to local hospitals, one where Kim was pronounced dead a short time later.
"Temple University is deeply saddened to learn of the death of one of our students in Center City Philadelphia,” the school said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends."
The other woman was listed in stable condition at a separate hospital.
