Disney made a few changes to its schedule, including pushing its new adaptation of The Jungle Book to 2016. The studio has also scheduled Ghost in the Shell and a remake of Pete’s Dragon.

The studio had previously scheduled Jon Favreau’s Jungle Book film for Oct. 9. However, today, Box Office Mojo’s updated schedule showed that the film was moved to April 15, 2016.

Oct. 9 will still feature a Disney release. The Finest Hours with Chris Pine will be released on that day. It is a period coast guard drama that is being directed by Million Dollar Arm’s Craig Gillespie.

By pushing its Jungle Book adaptation, it shrinks the amount of time between this film and Warner Bros.’ competing project, Jungle Book: Origins. The Andy Serkis-directed film is scheduled for Oct. 6, 2017.

Disney has also scheduled the DreamWorks production Ghost in the Shell for release on April 14, 2017. Just last week, Scarlett Johansson joined the film.

The studio is also making a Pete’s Dragon remake that not many people asked for. It was reported early last year that Ain’t Them Bodies Saints director David Lowry is going to direct the film, which is now scheduled for Aug. 12, 2016.

As Variety reported last week, the film’s cast will include Michael C. Hall, Robert Redford, Bryce Dallas Howard and Wes Bentley. Oakes Fegley will star as Pete. The film will reportedly not be a musical.
