Disney's Into The Woods has crossed $140 million at the worldwide box office. The film, which stars Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine and Emily Blunt, opened strong in the United States and has been building momentum overseas at the international box office.

Broadway World reported that the film has crossed the $140 million mark in just four weeks since it has been released.

Into The Woods opened with $31 million in the United States which is the highest grossing total for a movie musical of all time. Into The Woods is a live-action adaptation of the classic Stephen Sondheim musical.

The Huffington Post added that with this Oscar nomination for Meryl Streep, who plays the witch in the film, makes her the most nominated actress or actor in Oscar history. Streep has 19 nominations. In second place, Katharine Hepburn and Jack Nicholson with twelve nominations.
