Authorities in Massachusetts said the discovery of an elderly man and woman found outside their homes in the snow brings the death toll after this week’s blizzard to at least four.

Reuters noted that on Thursday, police found Olive Dupuis, 84, dead next to her car outside her home in Salem.

One day earlier, a man was told that his elderly father was staying with a neighbor, but he later learned that was not the case and called police to check on him. They found 97-year-old Richard MacLean buried in snow by the side of his house in Yarmouth.

While both deaths are currently under investigation, authorities said that foul play did not appear to be a factor in either case, but the storm and plunging temperatures likely were.

Elsewhere in New England, an 80-year-old man in Trumbull, Connecticut collapsed on Tuesday while trying to shovel some snow that the winter storm dumped in the area.

Additionally, as previously reported, 17-year-old Sean Urda died on Monday after a snow-tubing accident in Long Island, New York.
