Fall Out Boy is back on top of the Billboard 200 album chart with American Beauty/American Psycho, their follow-up to Save Rock And Roll.
Overall, American Beauty/American Psycho is the band’s third chart-topper. In 2007, Infinity On High debited at No. 1. Save Rock and Roll did the same in April 2013.
American Psycho moved 218,000 total units (which includes actual album sales, steaming and track downloads) in its first week, Billboard reports. The album actually sold 192,000 copies of the album.
The Fall Out Boy album’s success continues an interesting trend this year. While January is usually a light month for music sales, this is the second straight week of strong numbers. Meghan Trainor’s Title topped the chart last week with 230,000 total units.
Taylor Swift’s 1989 stayed at No. 2 with 119,000 units, while Title fell to No. 3 with 86,000 units.
Joey Bada$$’ B4.Da.$$ debuted with 58,000 total units. The Decemberists’ What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World debuted with 51,000 units and Marilyn Manson’s The Pale Emperor started with 51,000.
