When fans of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey line up to see the film adaptation, they shouldn't expect one controversial scene to make the transition from page to screen.

In an interview with Variety, director Sam Taylor-Johnson revealed the infamous "tampon scene" will be left out of the film. In fact, it was never even considered to be in there from the beginning.

"It didn't make it into movie. It was never even discussed," where the director's words on the matter.

For those unfamiliar with this moment, which can be found in text form at Nylon, the scene in question involves Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) pulling a used tampon out of Anastasia (Dakota Johnson), and, after throwing it into a nearby toilet, proceeding to have sex with the young female protagonist.

Even if the scene is not in the final cut, fans are going to come in droves to see this literary adaptation. Fifty Shades is already Fandango's fastest-selling R-rated movie ever. The R-rating, if you haven't seen it already, is quite puzzling, even for the producers.

Fifty Shades of Grey steams it way into theaters on February 13, 2015.
