Authorities in Florida said that two people were killed, two were taken into custody and two others remain at large following a robbery in Polk County.

The Tampa Bay Times reported that the Polk County Sheriff's office said that the suspects they are searching for are armed and dangerous.

"We anticipate that they are scared, they are armed," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. "We're not taking any risks. If they pull guns on us, make no mistake about it — we will shoot them."

The Associated Press noted that the mayhem that occurred and prompted the search began on Thursday evening. Police said that three men robbed a pawn shop just before 6:00 p.m. Another man waited in a getaway car and when police pursued the suspects, they opened fire on an officer. He was not injured.

Eventually, the four suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The Sheriff’s Office K-9 caught up to one of the men and he was apprehended.

Later, law enforcement officials responded to call of suspicious activity at a nearby residence. When they arrived a car pulled out of the driveway toward the officers. That person was also bitten by a K-9 and taken into custody. Inside the home two people were found dead.

Authorities continued to search for the two other men on Friday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
