Loredana Chivu, a former Playboy model, was in the news earlier this week after media reports claimed that her father killed himself after she saw her nude photos. However, the Romanian model claims that none of these reports are true.
Several media outlets, from the New York Daily News to the Daily Mail published quotes attributed to Chivu. In them, she says that she had a great relationship with her father until she posed for the Romanian edition of Playboy when she was 18.
“He stopped speaking to me, he was pretty upset. I thought he would get over it and I never expected he would do something like kill himself,” she is quoted as saying. “When he found out what I had done, he cut himself off from the world and tried to isolate me as well from the rest of the family.”
Chivu allegedly said that she found him hanging in an attic without a suicide note.
However, the Huffington Post reports that Chivu has since taken to Facebook to deny these claims. She says that her father died in February 2008, over a year before her Playboy pictures were published. She called the reports “totally false” and added that her father “loved me enormously.”
It’s not quite clear where Chiva’s alleged quotes came from. The Daily News cited Europics as the source of the newer pictures of her, but the photo agency did not give the Huffington Post a comment.
