Authorities said that a group of girls at an upstate New York school allegedly plotted to kill their fourth-grade teacher with hand sanitizer because she was “mean.”

WGZR noted that a police report alleged a trio of 9-year-olds plotted to put hand sanitizer on items the teacher would touch after finding out she was highly allergic to anti-bacterial products.

Police were contacted last month by a concerned parent after another student said the girls were talking to classmates about their plan.

The school released a statement addressing the incident on Thursday.

Superintendent of Elba Elementary Jerome Piwko, said that the school has cooperated fully with the investigation. And, after the Genesee County Sheriff's Department concluded no crime had been committed, the matter was turned back over to the district.

The statement went on to say that school officials were “shocked” to learn about the alleged incident and do not condone such behavior.

The Batavia Daily News reported that two of the students have been suspended.

The names of those students and the teacher have not been released.
