Elvis Presley would have turned 80-years-old today and of course, a lavish celebration was thrown at his famous estate in Memphis, Tennessee.

Good Morning America reported that thousands of fans were on hand at Graceland to join in the festivities. Priscilla Presley attended a ceremony that took place on the estate’s law. And, there was even a birthday cake cut to commemorate the milestone for the biggest name in Rock and Roll music.

You didn’t have to travel to Memphis though to celebrate the King’s birthday. As the Los Angeles Times noted, great deals on his music were being offered online in honor of the day.

Popmarket.com discounted many of the legend’s recording sets and Spotify featured a playlist of his music, naturally titled, Elvis80: The Fan Favorites Playlist.

Also, since there is an app for everything, Spotify decided to create an Elvis app called, The Elvis Influence.

Before his death on August 16, 1977 at the age of 42, Presley solidified his name in music history in a way that not many others have. It makes you wonder if he were alive today, would he still be performing. After all, Tony Bennett and Willie Nelson are over 80 and still touring.
