Jennifer Lawrence is ready to work with Francis Lawrence again after finishing The Hunger Games franchise. She’s going to star in The Dive, a film produced by James Cameron.

The casting was first reported by TheWrap. However, reps for Jennifer Lawrence and Francis Lawrence did not comment.

The Dive centers on the real-life story of Francisco ‘Pipin’ Ferreras and his wife, Audrey Mestre, who were both freedivers. They tried to push human limits by seeing how deep they could go underwater without breathing. Mestre, who Jennifer Lawrence will play, is set to play Mestre, who died while trying to break the world record.

Anyone who has followed Cameron’s career as of late shouldn’t be surprised to hear that he is interested in the story. He filmed Ferreras’ own attempt to break the record.

Cameron will produce under his Lightstorm Entertainment banner with Rae Sanchini and Barry Josephson. Safe Haven’s Dana Stevens wrote the latest script. However, The Hollywood Reporter notes that J. Michael Straczynski and Laeta Kalogridis (Cameron’s co-writer on Avatar) also worked on the screenplay.

Francis Lawrence helmed The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and both parts of Mockingjay. He also made Water for Elephants for Fox.

Jennifer Lawrence is currently working with David O. Russell again on Joy for Fox. She also stars in the studio’s X-Men franchise as Mystique.
