After getting a ton of criticism for her performance of Frozen’s “Let It Go” on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

Fans of the song weren’t happy about her high note at the end of the song and she took to Twitter to post an interview she did about the song last year.

The interview was for Southwest Magazine, during which she said, “There are about 3 million notes in a two-and-a-half-hour musical. Being a perfectionist, it took me a long time to realize that if I'm hitting 75 percent of them, I'm succeeding."

Likely in response to the backlash, she tweeted, “This is something I said in an interview a few months ago.”

Menzel continued to explain, "I am more than the notes I hit, and that’s how I try to approach my life. You can’t get it all right all the time, but you can try your best. If you’ve done that, all that’s left is to accept your shortcomings and have the courage to try to overcome them."

E! Online reports Twitter users were vocal about Menzel’s performance in Times Square on Wednesday night. In her defense, it was freezing outside and that likely hindered her from giving 100 percent of her voice.
