“It’s thrilling to me that Ms. Roberts and her team watched our film and were so moved by it that they want to dedicate their time and creative capital to make sure the widest audience possible will know and love Miles’ story and the spirit of this intimate special event that went global, as much as we do,” said director Dana Nachman to Deadline.
Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard Around the World chronicles the day that the city of San Francisco helped Scott don the costume of The Dark Knight and fight crime while completing missions around the city. Scott's heroics were followed on Twitter and the day ended with him receiving the key to the city from the San Francisco mayor and a mention from President Obama according to USA Today.
Roberts will produce with her Red Om Films partners Lisa Gillan and Marisa Yeres Gill while Nachman will executive produce and Josh and Dan Braun will make the film the first title to be released under new label Sub/Version.
Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard Around the World is set to make its debut at Slamdance.
