It wasn’t exactly like singing the National Anthem, but Katy Perry found another way to impress the hundreds of reporters at her Super Bowl press conference. She showed off her wit, promising a “wild” halftime performance with lions and sharks for good measure.

During the conference, the 30-year-old “Roar” singer joked that she’s lucky to perform at the Super Bowl “at such a young age,” notes CBS News. She hopes to add “some lightheartedness” to the show.

“I'm very excited about this performance," Perry added, the Boston Herald reports. "I think we are going to have a wonderful, fun, not-so-serious time."

Perry also said that she will try her best to sing live, but stressed that her act has many intricate dance moves and even costume changes, so that will make singing difficult. She promised that, in addition to a performance from Lenny Kravitz, there will be another surprise guest.

“I think I can ensure everyone in here that nothing in my performance will be deflated,” Perry said in reference to the New England Patriots’ Deflategate scandal.

She is rooting for the Seattle Seahawks, though, since she’s friends with quarterback Russell Wilson.

Super Bowl XLIX is on Sunday on NBC.

It’s customary for the Super Bowl halftime act to give a press conference and it often provides for some interesting moments, including Beyonce’s 2013 conference, which started with her belting out the National Anthem.
